COVID19 – A virus that shook the entire globe at once, has definitely marked its position in world history in just a few months.
As the number of affected people continues to grow, there has been a constant threat of living with random death raining down, which has caused chaos all around the world.
The government across the globe has been working incessantly and we see famous fashion houses and jewelry brands have come forward to help in this hour of need.
Kering Groop
A world-class luxury group, Kering is a French multinational corporation that manages leading luxury manufactures of jewelry, watches, designer bags, shoes, and clothing. Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Boucheron, Brioni, Pomellato and Ulysse Nardin are owned by the group. The company announced its donation of 3 million surgical masks for the French health service, which the group will purchase and import from china. French workshops of Kering houses Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent have been preparing to manufacture masks. Gucci announced a donation of 1,100,000 surgical masks and 55,000 medical overalls in the coming weeks. It will also donate 2 million euros. Locally and globally, in Italy where the company is based, a 1 million euros donation to the Italian Civil Protection Department and 1 million euros to the United Nations Foundations COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
In Italy, on 11th march Kering and its houses made donations to the four major foundation hospitals in Lombardy, Veneto, Tuscany and Lazio and on 28th January in China, it donated to the Hubei red cross foundation to help fight the spread of the virus.

Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, also known as Richemont, a Switzerland based luxury group that owns several luxury brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Chloe donated 1.4 million US dollars towards COVID19.
Bvlgari ‘Cinemagia’ High Jewelry Collection
Bvlgari the Italian jewelry company donated an undisclosed figure to the Roman Research Department. It will produce more than 100,000 hand sanitizer bottles that will be distributed through the Italian Civil Protection Department. Bvlgari has also donated funds to the Spallanzani Hospital, which acquired a new microscope for researches looking to eliminate the virus.
Silvia Furmanovich, 5% of the company’s sales generated via Whatsapp and telephone will go to hospital Das Clínicas De Sāo Paulo.

Jewelry Brands for No Kid Hungry– the jewelry community came together in order to help fight this fight against coronavirus. More than 100 brands and designers will be donating 10-30% of their sales to No Kid Hungry, an organization that provides meals to children across the United States. They include Ana Katarina, Jacquie Aiche, Colette Jewelry, Irene Neuwirth Jewelry, etc.
